Baseball Recap: Palestine-Wheatley Extends Winning Streak to Three

Palestine-Wheatley entered their tilt with Bauxite on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Miners by a score of 5-2.

Maddox Hoggatt was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 1-for-3. He has become a key player for Palestine-Wheatley: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-5 otherwise. Brody Bass also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Palestine-Wheatley now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Bauxite, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.

Palestine-Wheatley will take on Carlisle at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Bauxite, they will face off against Mayflower at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
