Volleyball Game Preview: Zuni Thunderbirds vs. Crownpoint Eagles

The Zuni Thunderbirds will face off against the Crownpoint Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crownpoint took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Zuni, who comes in off a win.

Zuni took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Navajo Prep, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Thunderbirds skirted past the Eagles 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Thunderbirds have posted against the Eagles since September 28, 2021.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Zuni who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 18-25, 25-22, 24-26, 15-8.

Meanwhile, Crownpoint unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-match winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against Tohatchi, falling 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-10, 25-19.

Zuni pushed their record up to 9-10 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Crownpoint, their loss dropped their record down to 13-5.
