Baseball Game Preview: Solorio Sun Warriors vs. Jones Eagles

Solorio is 1-9 against Jones since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Sun Warriors will face off against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Things were looking good for Solorio after they put the first run on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 14-2 to Simeon. The Sun Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Solorio saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josiah Saucedo, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Jones was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of Lincoln Park. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by just one run.

Jones' loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Solorio, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Solorio has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Jones struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Solorio might still be hurting after the 15-0 loss they got from Jones in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Sun Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
