Baseball Game Preview: Rock Falls Rockets vs. Fulton Steamers

The Rock Falls Rockets will head out to challenge the Fulton Steamers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Fulton took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Rock Falls, who comes in off a win.

Rock Falls took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They came out on top against North Boone by a score of 8-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last eight times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Rock Falls saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Castaneda, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Brody Cox also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Fulton fell victim to Alleman and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 8-0 to the Pioneers. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Steamers were not able to get on the board.

Fulton dropped their record down to 13-12 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only three runs. As for Rock Falls, they moved to 11-15-1 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.
