Basketball Recap: Fort Wayne Wayne Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Fort Wayne Wayne entered their contest against Carroll on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Fort Wayne Wayne Generals received a blow as they fell 57-43 to the Carroll Chargers. While losing is never fun, the Generals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while the Chargers are ranked 48th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Carroll to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jersey Paul, who went 6 of 14 on her way to 22 points and three steals. Paul is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily George, who went 7 of 10 on her way to 19 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Fort Wayne Wayne's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4. As for Carroll, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Fort Wayne Wayne will be taking part in a tournament against Kokomo at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Carroll, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Norwell at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
