Baseball Recap: Walsh Jesuit Beats Perry for Their Fourth Straight Victory

It's playoff time, and Walsh Jesuit had no trouble coming through when it counted. They skirted past the Perry Panthers 3-1. That's more bragging rights for the Warriors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Shawn Sullivan tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Matthew Mansbery was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Alex Ramon-Johnston, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

The win was the fourth in a row for Walsh Jesuit, bringing their record up to 15-6-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of six runs across that stretch. As for Perry, they moved to 14-13 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Walsh Jesuit nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
