Volleyball Recap: Jurupa Hills Takes a Loss

Jurupa Hills suffered their biggest loss since October 9, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Colony Titans. If the Spartans were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Titans when the teams met back in August of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Jurupa Hills had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-21, 25-20.

Whitney Smith paced Jurupa Hills' offense, picking up nine kills. Smith got some help from Sariah Jordan and her 15 assists. Aleida Nunez controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Jurupa Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Colony, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jurupa Hills will square off against Hesperia at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Colony, they will venture away from home to square off against Ontario at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
