Skeylah Shirley was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Shirley was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-5.
In other batting news, Midlothian Heritage got a massive performance out of Taylor Bilderback, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Bilderback has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Rylee Parrish, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one triple, and two RBI.
Midlothian Heritage kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, Midlothian made sure to put some runs up on the board against Terrell on Tuesday. Midlothian was the clear victor by a 31-3 margin over Terrell. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Abby Insley looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk).
At the plate, Midlothian let Maddie Copeland and Addison Prescott run wild. Copeland went 4-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base, while Prescott went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that Prescott hit this season. Adrie Tovar was another key player, scoring five runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Midlothian Heritage is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. Midlothian's win bumped their record up to 13-6-1.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Midlothian Heritage hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .403. However, it's not like Midlothian struggles in that department as they've averaged .358. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
