Baseball Recap: Killian Find Success

After losing to Miami Springs the last time they met, Killian decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Cougars skirted past the Golden Hawks 10-8. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Phoenix Medina made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one run. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in February.

In other batting news, Johnny Chen See was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Kevin Nu?ez, who earned three runs and two stolen bases.

Killian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .535. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Killian now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Miami Springs, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4.

Coming up, Killian will head out to challenge Goleman at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Gators' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Miami Springs, they have already played their next matchup, a 4-3 defeat against Coral Gables on the 17th.
