Baseball Recap: Nutley Comes Up Short

Nutley suffered their closest loss since May 3, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of the Livingston Lancers by a score of 5-3. The Maroon Raiders have struggled against the Lancers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Benjamin McNeil made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Santino Ruiz also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Nutley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Livingston, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nutley will challenge West Orange at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Livingston, they will take on Columbia at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
