Softball Game Preview: Belvidere North Blue Thunder vs. Sycamore Spartans

The Belvidere North Blue Thunder will challenge the Sycamore Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Belvidere North is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Hampshire on Tuesday as they made off with a 17-2 victory. Considering the Blue Thunder have won four matchups by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Sycamore strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on North Boone with a sharp 12-1 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Spartans considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Sycamore's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.1 runs over those games. As for Belvidere North, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 5-3.
