Softball Recap: Fort Dorchester Beats Oceanside Collegiate Academy for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Fort Dorchester put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let the Oceanside Collegiate Academy Landsharks get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. Considering the Patriots have won three games by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Lily Brinson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave her a new career-low. She was even better at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs.

Brinson wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Bayleigh Martin, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Martin also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another was Ashton Giet, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Fort Dorchester was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .353 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Fort Dorchester's win bumped their record up to 4-0.

Coming up, Fort Dorchester will take on Stratford at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Oceanside Collegiate Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on James Island at 6:00 p.m. on March 12th.
