Soccer Recap: East View Victorious

East View's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Cedar Creek Eagles a 1-0 shutout. The Patriots' winning goal came courtesy of Eymard Diaz.

East View was without their leading scorer, Bryan Bautista, in Tuesday's matchup. With Bautista sidelined, East View had to make some big changes to the lineup. Three players hit the pitch for the first time this season: Noe Morales, Diaz, and Harrison Vanburen. The pair took full advantage of the opportunity: Morales put up one assist, while he scored a goal.

East View now has a winning record of 3-2-2. As for Cedar Creek, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7-2.

East View will be playing in front of their home fans against Bastrop at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. East View's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. As for Cedar Creek, it'll be Battle of the Birds when the Cedar Creek duke it out with the Hendrickson at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Cedar Creek's last four games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
