Baseball Recap: Avon Lake Beats Dublin Coffman for Their Third Straight Win

While Avon Lake didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-15-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 12-8 win over the Dublin Coffman Shamrocks on Thursday. The victory was familiar territory for the Shoremen, who have now won three contests in a row.

Avon Lake got a big performance out of Chase Cartwright, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Haven, who went 2-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Avon Lake kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in three consecutive matchups.

Avon Lake's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Dublin Coffman, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Avon Lake will welcome Chardon at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Dublin Coffman, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Upper Arlington at 5:00 p.m. The Golden Bears' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Shamrocks' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
