Soccer Game Preview: Gilbert vs. Carlisle

The Gilbert Tigers will head out to take on the Carlisle Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gilbert's defense has only allowed 0.5 goals per game this season, so Carlisle's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Gilbert had been on a six-game streak of scoring at least four goals, but North Polk put an end to it on Saturday. The Tigers fell 3-1 to the Comets. Gilbert's loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Carlisle fell victim to Southeast Polk and their airtight defense on Thursday. They came up short against the Rams, falling 4-0.

Gilbert's defeat dropped their record down to 16-3-2. As for Carlisle, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3-4.

Everything went Gilbert's way against Carlisle in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Gilbert made off with a 9-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
