 Stratford was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight  loss. They suffered a  rough 12-6 defeat at the hands of the Elmore City-Pernell Badgers. Stratford was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Elmore City-Pernell apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in March.
  Canaan Weddle made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  scored two  runs while going 2-for-4.
 On Elmore City-Pernell's side,  Owen McConnell and  Colby Green did most of the damage at the plate:  McConnell  scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-4, while  Green  scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances. McConnell is trending in the right direction, as he's  improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was  Zane Balentine, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-5.
 Stratford's defeat dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Elmore City-Pernell, their win was  their fifth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 15-9.
 Stratford didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  contest,  an  8-0  loss vs. Lexington on the 19th. As for Elmore City-Pernell, they will be staying on the road  on Thursday to face off against Christian Heritage at 4:00  p.m. Elmore City-Pernell's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8  runs per game  this season, so Christian Heritage's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
