Baseball Recap: Rocky River Comes Up Short

Rocky River fell victim to Lakewood and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rangers. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Pirates were not able to get on the board.

Rocky River's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Lakewood, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rocky River will host Bay at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lakewood, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against North Ridgeville at 7:00 p.m.
