Basketball Recap: University Prep Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

It's playoff time, and University Prep had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Durham Trojans on Tuesday, sneaking past 51-49. The win was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won five matchups in a row.

University Prep got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Trey Pringle out in front who shot 41% from the field en route to 22 points and eight steals. Pringle is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 11 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Adam Gire, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

University Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in nine consecutive contests.

University Prep's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 25-8. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 27.3 points. As for Durham, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins and brought them to 25-6.

University Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 70-67 victory against Gridley on the 6th. Durham does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
