Basketball Game Preview: Avon Orioles vs. Brownsburg Bulldogs

The Avon Orioles will take on the Brownsburg Bulldogs in a tournament on Tuesday. Avon will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Avon saw some tournament action on Friday. They blew past South Bend Adams 71-38. The Orioles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 32 points or more this season.

Avon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jedidiah Minnett, who went 7 for 14 on his way to 21 points. That's the most points Minnett has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Keriawn Berry, who went 8 of 17 on his way to 22 points and five rebounds.

Avon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in six consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Brownsburg didn't have too much trouble with Marquette Catholic on Friday as they won 61-42. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Brownsburg's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Avon, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.

Avon beat Brownsburg 70-57 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Will Avon repeat their success, or does Brownsburg have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
