Basketball Recap: Faith Christian Academy Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Faith Christian Academy won the last time they faced Christ Covenant and things went their way on Friday too. The Conquerors blew past the Spartans 55-34. The Conquerors pushed the score to 48-25 by the end of the third, a deficit the Spartans cut but never quite recovered from.

Leading Faith Christian Academy to victory were Jaxon Howard and Andrew Kelly. Howard posted 17 points along with seven assists and five steals, while Kelly went 5-for-10 en route to 15 points and four steals. Kelly is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played. Wyatt Robertson was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Faith Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

Faith Christian Academy pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 27 points. As for Christ Covenant, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Faith Christian Academy is headed away from home for the first time to take on Pitt County P at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Christ Covenant, they will face off against Community Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
