After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Holmes, Washington was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the North Johnston Panthers 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pam Pack have posted since September 10th.

Washington had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 22-25, 25-15, 25-20, 15-10.

Riley O'Neal paced Washington's offense, picking up 16 kills. O'Neal got some help from Naomi Huss and her 23 assists.

Loss or not, North Johnston got some senior leadership from Kathryn Pitts and Callie Lancaster. Pitts had 31 digs and 28 assists, while Lancaster had 19 kills, 17 digs, and two aces. Those 28 assists set a new season-high mark for Pitts. Addison Wilkinson was another key player, getting 18 digs and one assist.

Washington has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season. As for North Johnston, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 11-7 record.

Washington has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against North Lenoir on the 7th. As for North Johnston, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against West Craven on the 7th.
