Basketball Recap: David Thibodaux Comes Up Short

David Thibodaux played a tough matchup on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 74-51 to the Liberty Magnet Patriots. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Patriots are ranked third).

Liberty Magnet was led to victory by Malek Robinson and Chivas Lee Jr.. Robinson went 6 of 9 to rack up 15 points in addition to eight steals and seven assists, while Lee Jr. went 6 for 9 on his way to 19 points. Robinson has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last 24 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kingston Jarrell, who went 6 for 7 en route to 12 points and six boards.

David Thibodaux's defeat dropped their record down to 22-8. As for Liberty Magnet, their win was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-3.

David Thibodaux has already played their next game, a 41-28 victory against North Vermilion on the 4th. As for Liberty Magnet, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 48-43 win against Crescent City Christian on the 4th.
