Volleyball Game Preview: Pleasant Grove Eagles vs. Jesuit Marauders

Pleasant Grove hasn't had much luck against Jesuit recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Eagles will host the Marauders at 6:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.

Pleasant Grove is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They blew past Downey 3-0.

Pleasant Grove never let Downey on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-22, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Jesuit had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Wolfpack as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-18, 25-20.

Jesuit pushed their record up to 23-12 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Pleasant Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.

Pleasant Grove came out on top in a nail-biter against Jesuit in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Marauders' Naryan Banerjee, who had 24 digs and seven assists. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Eagles still be able to contain Banerjee? There's only one way to find out.
