The Lone Oak Buffaloes are taking a road trip to challenge the Grand Saline Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Grand Saline will be up against a hot Lone Oak team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went the Buffaloes' way against Quitman on Friday as they made off with a 41-19 win. The Buffaloes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 22 points or more this season.

Lone Oak's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Slayde Parnell, who threw for 229 yards and four TDs on only 19 passes. What's more, Parnell racked up 20 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Moi Perez was in the mix as well, providing Lone Oak with two scores.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grand Saline). They blew past Chisum, posting a 46-7 victory. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Lone Oak better keep an eye on Jett Taylor. He was instrumental in Grand Saline's win, rushing for 146 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry, and also throwing for 170 yards and one TD while completing 84.6% of his passes. Taylor also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble, making six total tackles, and defending four passes. Grand Saline's leading receiver Karson Herring was Taylor's top target yet again, picking up 94 receiving yards, while also punching in one score on the ground.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Grand Saline's defense and their seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Gavin Rodriguez and Eli Ivy, who racked up four sacks between them. Ivy is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least six every time he's taken the field this season. Bo Hathcock got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Lone Oak's record now sits at 6-1. As for Grand Saline, their record is now 5-2.
Lone Oak might still be hurting after the 28-7 defeat they got from Grand Saline when the teams last played back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Taylor, who rushed for 168 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Now that the Buffaloes know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
