Basketball Game Preview: Splendora Wildcats vs. Porter Spartans

Splendora is 1-9 against Porter since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Splendora Wildcats will head out to take on the Porter Spartans at 1:00 p.m. Porter took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Splendora, who comes in off a win.

Porter is hoping to do what Navasota couldn't on Saturday: put an end to Splendora's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Splendora secured a 47-42 W over Navasota.

Meanwhile, Porter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Fulshear and fell 61-17. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 601st, while the Chargers are ranked 70th).

Splendora's victory bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Porter, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-13.

Splendora ended up a good deal behind Porter when the teams last played back in November of 2022, losing 43-27. Can Splendora avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
