Basketball Recap: Lowry Makes It Three in a Row at Home

Lowry had won two straight home games and Britain Backus did her part to make it three on Saturday. The Lowry Buckaroos walked away with a 59-49 win over the Damonte Ranch Mustangs thanks in part to Backus, who went 14 of 21 on her way to 34 points and six steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Lowry's points.

When it comes to explaining why Damonte Ranch lost, don't look at Mya Ghisletta. Despite the final result, she went 6 of 13 on her way to 14 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazmine Monges, who posted ten points.

Lowry has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Damonte Ranch, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Lowry wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 58-37 victory against Elko on the 4th. As for Damonte Ranch, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-50 win against Carson on the 3rd.
