Volleyball Recap: Douglas County Huskies vs. Battle Mountain Huskies
Fans were treated to a battle of the Huskies on Friday. Douglas County came out on top against Battle Mountain by a score of 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Douglas County.
Douglas County walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-13, 22-25, 25-22.
Addi Bradford had an outrageously good game as she had 13 digs and five aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ady Millar, who had 20 assists and five digs.
They weren't the only good servers: Douglas County was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. They served two more aces than Battle Mountain's also-impressive total of 14.
Despite the loss, Battle Mountain still got an impressive performance from Sky Gwin, who had seven digs and four aces. Gwin is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 13 every time she's taken the court this season.
Douglas County's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Battle Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-1.
Coincidentally, Douglas County and Battle Mountain will both be playing Doral Academy Red Rock the next time they take the court. Battle Mountain will host Doral Academy Red Rock at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, while Douglas County will play them later in the day, at 5:00 p.m.
