Softball Recap: Pisgah Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Pisgah extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping them up to 9-2. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Franklin Panthers. That's two games straight that the Bears have won by exactly five runs.

Lilly Inman made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Inman was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025.

Inman wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Alexis Markos, who went 1-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Jaiden Smith was another, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one run.

Pisgah kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

As for Franklin, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly five runs.

On Franklin's side, Kendall Rumans was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Pisgah and Franklin could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Bears (ranked 89th) will meet South Florence (ranked 27th) at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Franklin will take on West Stokes at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (85 vs. 28).
