Soccer Game Preview: Pleasant Grove vs. Sulphur Springs

Pleasant Grove hasn't had much luck against Sulphur Springs recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Pleasant Grove Hawks will take on the Sulphur Springs Wildcats at 7:30 p.m.

Pleasant Grove is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to six goals on Friday, they were much more limited against Paris on Monday. They lost 4-1 to the Wildcats.

Meanwhile, Sulphur Springs came tearing into Monday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Red Devils get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by three goals or more this season.

Sulphur Springs' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those three contests. As for Pleasant Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.

Pleasant Grove suffered a grim 5-0 defeat to Sulphur Springs in their previous matchup on February 4th. Can Pleasant Grove avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
