Basketball Recap: Salesian Comes Up Short

Salesian was the 49-43 winner over Sacred Heart when they last played one another back in March of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Salesian Eagles took a 46-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sacred Heart Irish on Monday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Salesian still got an impressive performance from Julien Wiggins, who posted 21 points and five rebounds. Wiggins' afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Kevaughn Mitchell was another key player, putting up six points, to go along with six rebounds and three steals.

Salesian now has a losing record at 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Salesian will welcome Kennedy Catholic at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Sacred Heart, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Xavier at 4:30 p.m. on December 18th.
