Volleyball Recap: Desert Hills Takes a Loss

Desert Hills and Payson squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Desert Hills had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 2-1. The Thunder haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Desert Hills lost, don't look at Kolu Afualo. Despite the final result, he had 14 assists and four digs. Afualo is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 14 or more in each of the last three games he's played. Triston Anderson also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.

Desert Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 18-10. As for Payson, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Desert Hills nor Payson have any future games scheduled.
