Baseball Preview: Immaculata Spartans vs. Sayreville Bombers
The Immaculata Spartans will venture away from home to square off against the Sayreville Bombers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Immaculata is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Immaculata came out on top against Hillsborough on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run sixth inning. The Spartans put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 15-6 victory. Meanwhile, Sayreville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of South Plainfield.
Immaculata's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Sayreville, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.
