Volleyball Game Preview: Saugus Centurions vs. Ventura Cougars

The Saugus Centurions will take on the Ventura Cougars in a tournament on Saturday. Ventura took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Saugus, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Saugus turned things around against Hart on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Hawks.

Saugus had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Ventura lost 3-0 to Dos Pueblos on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Chargers: they've now lost four in a row.

While Ventura was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Dos Pueblos' winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-19, 25-21.

Ventura's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Saugus, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-6.
