Baseball Recap: Northeast Takes a Loss

Northeast was the 5-2 winner over Countryside when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Vikings took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars on Thursday. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Michael Marley and Noah Rodriquez stepped up to the plate in a big way. Marley scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Rodriquez went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that Rodriquez hit this season.

Northeast's record now sits at 10-12. As for Countryside, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-7.

Looking ahead, Northeast will square off against Warren East at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings are facing the Raiders at the right time seeing as the Raiders are stuck on a three-game losing streak. Countryside does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
