Basketball Recap: Olympia Takes a Loss

Olympia and Windermere squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Olympia had to settle for second. They were dealt a 68-35 loss at the hands of the Windermere Wolverines. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Wolverines are ranked seventh).

Olympia lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jonathan ?JJ? Watts, who posted nine points. Another player making a difference was Carson Punt, who put up eight points and five boards.

Olympia's defeat dropped their record down to 18-10. As for Windermere, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-5.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Olympia will challenge St. Cloud at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Olympia is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.6 points per game this season. As for Windermere, they will square off against Harmony at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Windermere's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 26 matches.
