Basketball Recap: Seven Straight Home Victories for Wharton

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Wharton had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Sunlake Seahawks by a score of 68-57.

Wharton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tysen Jefferson led the charge by going 8 for 18 en route to 27 points along with six boards and five assists. That's the most points Jefferson has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Womack, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.

Wharton's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Sunlake, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-7.

Wharton has already played their next game (against Wiregrass Ranch), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Sunlake does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
