Volleyball Recap: Nipomo Titans vs. Paso Robles Bearcats
If Nipomo was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Righetti last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Titans fell just short of the Paso Robles Bearcats by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Titans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bearcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
Nipomo took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-18, 20-25, 21-25, 25-21, 15-12.
Alex Cortez paced Nipomo's offense, picking up 22 kills. Cortez got some help from Chase Spicer and his 47 assists. Torin Reynolds controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Nipomo's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 17-11. As for Paso Robles, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-4 record.
Coming up, Nipomo will venture away from home to face off against Orcutt Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Paso Robles, they will challenge Morro Bay at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bearcats are facing the Pirates at the right time seeing as the Pirates are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
