Basketball Recap: Pompano Beach Comes Up Short

Pompano Beach lost against Cardinal Gibbons back in February of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pompano Beach Golden Tornadoes were outmatched by the Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs and fell 80-52. While losing is never fun, the Golden Tornadoes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 649th, while the Chiefs are ranked 24th).

Pompano Beach's loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Cardinal Gibbons, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.

Pompano Beach will take on Westwood Christian at 9:30 a.m. on Monday. As for Cardinal Gibbons, they will square off against Southridge at 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
