Baseball Recap: Washington Takes a Loss

Washington extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 3-12 in the process. They came up short against the Eatonville Cruisers, falling 12-0. The Patriots were not able to make up for their defeat to the Cruisers from their previous meeting back in March of 2023.

Washington saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luis Mantilla, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

As for Eatonville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-9. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games.

On Eatonville's side, Brody Thirtyacre was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Thirtyacre has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

While Washington had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
