It was a good run, but Dayton unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Friday. They came up short against the Fernley Vaqueros, falling 3-0. If the Dust Devils were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Vaqueros when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Dayton was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-23, 25-18.

MCKINLEE SMITH paced Dayton's offense, picking up five kills. SMITH got some help from ALISI TULIMAFUA-CURRAN and her six assists.

Dayton's loss dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Fernley, they pushed their record up to 20-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Dayton is set to face off against their familiar foe Lowry at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Fernley will take on rival Churchill County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
