Soccer Game Preview: Eastlake vs. Newport - Bellevue

The Eastlake Wolves will venture away from home to square off against the Newport - Bellevue Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Eastlake barely beat Skyline the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Eastlake's defense stepped up to hand Skyline a 3-0 shutout on Friday. The result was nothing new for Eastlake, who have now won three matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Newport - Bellevue). They came out on top against Bonney Lake by a score of 4-2 on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for Newport - Bellevue, who have now won three contests in a row.

Newport - Bellevue's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored nine goals over those three games. As for Eastlake, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Eastlake couldn't quite get it done against Newport - Bellevue when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can Eastlake avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
