Soccer Game Preview: Newtown vs. South Windsor

The Newtown Nighthawks will venture away from home to take on the South Windsor Bobcats at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Newtown's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Newtown's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Pomperaug, sneaking past 1-0.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Windsor). They blew past Manchester 9-0 on Tuesday. South Windsor haven't had any issues with Manchester recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

South Windsor's win bumped their record up to 10-1-2. As for Newtown, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2-2.
