Trumbull has gone a perfect 3-0 against Bridgeport Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Eagles will welcome the Hilltoppers at 4:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Trumbull is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Connecticut's top teams: Ridgefield, who was ranked 23rd at the time (Trumbull was ranked first). The Eagles were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Tigers on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Trumbull was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-14, 25-18.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bridgeport Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on McMahon with a sharp 3-0 win on Wednesday. While the Hilltoppers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Bridgeport Central walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-16, 25-13, 25-19.

Bridgeport Central is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Trumbull, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0.

Trumbull came out on top in a nail-biter against Bridgeport Central in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Hilltoppers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
