Softball Recap: Hillcrest Comes Up Short

Hillcrest managed to slip by Riverside the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Rams lost 16-8 to the Warriors on Monday. The Rams were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 6-5.

Tatum Lane and Maria Sialmas stepped up to the plate in a big way. Lane went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run, while Sialmas went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Taylor Abercrombie, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Hillcrest and nudges their season record down to 13-12. As for Riverside, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-10-1.

Hillcrest has already played their next contest, a 5-4 defeat against Greenville on the 7th. As for Riverside, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 15-5 win against T.L. Hanna on the 7th.
