Softball Recap: Mayfield Takes a Loss

Mayfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 14-2 to the Ballard Memorial Bombers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bombers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 back in March.

Mayfield's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Ballard Memorial, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season.

Mayfield is taking a road trip to square off against Fulton City at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ballard Memorial will be paying especially close attention to the Cardinals' matchup: after the Cardinals faces off against Murray, they'll take on Ballard Memorial again at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
