Volleyball Recap: Palmetto Ridge Takes a Loss

Palmetto Ridge and Charlotte squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Palmetto Ridge had to settle for second. They came up short against the Fightin' Tarpons, falling 3-0. The Bears were not able to make up for their loss to the Fightin' Tarpons from their previous meeting back in September of 2021.

Palmetto Ridge took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-16, 25-19.

Despite the defeat, Palmetto Ridge saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ava Azcuy had 17 digs and two assists.

The loss snapped Palmetto Ridge's winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 13-16 record. As for Charlotte, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 24-3.

Palmetto Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Charlotte, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Largo on the 22nd.
