Basketball Recap: Storm Lake St. Mary Comes Up Short

Storm Lake St. Mary was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 36th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the West Bend-Mallard Wolverines, falling 60-34. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 333rd, while the Wolverines are ranked 141st).

Storm Lake St. Mary's loss dropped their record down to 0-22. As for West Bend-Mallard, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Storm Lake St. Mary didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 52-30 defeat against Glidden-Ralston on the 13th. West Bend-Mallard has also already played their next contest (against St. Mary's), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
