Soccer Game Preview: Bell vs. Southlake Carroll

Bell hasn't had much luck against Southlake Carroll recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bell Blue Raiders will take on the Southlake Carroll Dragons at 6:30 p.m.

Bell fell victim to Keller Central and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers. While losing is never fun, the Blue Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 248th, while the Chargers are ranked 36th).

Meanwhile, Southlake Carroll hasn't lost a match since January 24th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Northwest an 8-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won 15 matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Southlake Carroll pushed their record up to 17-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those five contests. As for Bell, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.

Bell suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Southlake Carroll when the teams last played back in February. Can Bell avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
