Basketball Game Preview: Point Loma Pointers vs. La Jolla Vikings

The Point Loma Pointers will take on the La Jolla Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Point Loma is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.9 points per game this season.

Point Loma is headed into Friday's game hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. The matchup between them and Canyon Hills didn't end well, with Point Loma falling 66-51.

Despite their defeat, Point Loma saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Na'Sean Hardy, who went 6 of 10 en route to 17 points and five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Jax Marple, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 12 points.

Meanwhile, La Jolla played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Mission Bay and fell 72-27. The game marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

La Jolla has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-9 record this season. As for Point Loma, their loss dropped their record down to 17-6.

Point Loma came out on top in a nail-biter against La Jolla in their previous meeting back in January, sneaking past 49-47. Does Point Loma have another victory up their sleeve, or will La Jolla turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
