Basketball Recap: Hawkins Hawks vs. Jordan Bulldogs
The Hawkins Hawks pushed their score all the way to 55 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 67-55 to Jordan. While losing is never fun, Hawkins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1039th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 479th).
Hawkins' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Robert Stewart, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Alvarado, who scored 11 points.
Hawkins' loss dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Jordan, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 19-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hawkins will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Monarchs at 4:30 p.m. on February 1st. Harbor Teacher is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Jordan, they will head out on the road to face off against the Polar Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
